Nearly a month since last post? Sheesh....Full speed into summer....no easing into it this year!
WOOHOO was that ever a FUN Beer Fest!! Cottontown Brews Fest Inaugural is in the books! A great time was had by all, amazing beer, delicious food and ridiculously great music was flowing and the rain cleared just in time (like minutes) for our friends to arrive and have a good time! Once the speed of summer slows a bit we will start planning for next year! Thanks to all the fine folks who spent their Saturday (and Sunday!) with us!!
So since then, the wonderful, exciting, inviting, splendiferous Beer Farm Bistro arrived....check it out! The floors go in today, plumbing is next, doors in a week, painting, table making, electrical, ramp building....all underway in the next few weeks! We are hoping that will all just be a few weeks and by mid July we will be able to sit, feed and beer ya in a nice cool spot. We are hoping to kick it off with a Farm to Table Dinner, so stay tuned!
Oldest son Noah has ventured off the farm to work at the Outpost in Subiaco....so far he loves it, and they love him! We are happy for him and his independence! Youngest son Logan came all the way from San Diego to visit this month, and got to work the beer fest, check out the brewery and even helped brew a batch. We brewed Logan's IPA, and that will be out this weekend! It's a super hoppy West Coast style, of course :-)
Beer Farm Yoga is going well....every Monday at 7pm all Summer! Come on out and stretch your worries away! Then have a pint and enjoy sunset on the farm. It really is quite blissful <3
Tuesday, June 27 will be our first pop-up Farmers Market on the beer farm! We will have several vendors from surrounding areas come by with their Arkansas grown, made, baked, crafted and raised items from 4-8pm! We will have food and beer available from the brewery, face painting for the kids, and Live music from William Blackart!! We are hoping to have a few more of these over the season....it's a great way to bring new product to our area and get to know farmers and producers from different parts of the state! We may even have a few veggies ready by then!
Father's Day saw a little fun here on the farm...once the rain stopped :-) Such a dilemma, the farmer me wants the rain...the brewer me wants it to stop so people can come drink beer! Once that little bistro is ready that should be much less of a problem!
June 30 is the Summer Release of Patience Imperial Stout! Super limited supply as usual, available by the glass or small growlers only! Come on out, this one just keeps getting better with age! We will have some food pairing on hand for that release as well. Next release will be Fall, end of September so get it while you can!
The farm is finally showing signs of productivity....every one of the 600+ tomato plants have fruit, cucumbers are going wild (refrigerator pickles for sale at the brewery, SOON!), black eyed peas a plenty, herbs, flowers blooming, it's starting to look farmy around here again....of course the work is never done, this weekend the newest high tunnel with get its winter squash planting, cotton seed will go down, and another round of beans and squash will get sown. So very worth it!!
Last but not least we are **thrilled** to announce the addition of three regional artisan cheese lines to Prestonrose! We will soon be offering charcuterie boards featuring them, as well as cheese-to-go sales! More on that later.......We have been sampling, (hard work, but we do it for YOU!) and absolutely love the amazing creations from these fine folks, and cannot wait to share them with you!
Thanks for sticking with us, BFFs! We love you and can't wait to bring you more great beer, food, fun and hospitality out here on the Beer Farm!
