Mudbugs, Babies and More Tacos.....

WHEW is May ever packed!! This is a busy post!  I'll try and sprinkle pretty colors throughout to hold your attention!

We ended April serving our beer at our friends Amber and Evan's co-ed baby shower!  They've already got 2 adorable little boos of their own, pictured here at the table full of **delicious** fresh Louisiana crawfish!  This was not your average baby shower!!  We had a wonderful time and got to introduce our beers to a few new people...and a few not-so-new too!  :-)  We wish our friends all the best and a happy healthy delivery in July!!

A few new developments are on the books...today we were officially approved for our retail food permit....What does that mean?  Mostly it means you can eat some yummy snacks while you enjoy your farm fresh beer.....it also means farm to table dinners with beer pairings are right around the corner!

Speaking of yummy snacks....come on out Friday May 5 for our Cinco de Mayo celebration! .

....did you know Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexico's unlikely victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862?  It's often confused with Mexican Independence Day...Which is actually September 16!  Being a native Californian, I grew up with many Cinco de Mayo celebrations all around us...and I found out recently (thanks Wiki!) that the American recognition and celebration of that holiday actually began in California when Mexican miners got word of the Puebla victory!

Anyway!  We will host a small shindig here at the beer farm, and will sell our first official food during business hours!  We're keeping it simple as we grow, and thought tacos would be an appropriate place to start!  We will have brisket, chicken and vegetarian taco options, all made with as many local ingredients as we can get our hands on!  We also will release our new spicy stout called Mariachi....named for the Fort Smith Coffee Co. beans it was brewed with, called Mexico Mariachi.  This one has a little kick to it!  We added some dried peppers from last year's crop and man is it tasty!!  Notes of chocolate, coffee, a little tingle on the tongue....muy bueno!

Poor Ol' Uncle Fatty will also be joining us with live music!  He has quite a little following....I think it's gonna be a full house!  ......er, uh....yard!  If you're coming, be sure you toss a few camping chairs in the car with ya, in case we run out of room!!  The weather is supposed to be beautiful, and we are looking forward to a great evening with our beer farm friends!  Gate opens at 4, music around 630.

Have you ordered your Mother's Day Beer Farm baskets/boxes?  Orders MUST be in by the 9th of May to be ready for pickup Mother's Day Weekend!!

Farmers Market is back in Paris!  Saturday May 6 from 8am to noon, come on out and welcome your favorite farmers back at the good ol' Paris Courthouse Square and Eiffel Tower Park!  Every Saturday, same time.

On the beer-genda for next week is a nice classic hefeweizen, and following that will be a fun little hoppy brown!  Lots of chamomile self seeded from last year, so I've got a nice little crop to harvest this week and dry out....then get the first 2017 batch of Blue Eyed Susan Brown in the kettles!!

On the farmfront....sprouts are everywhere and the tomato plants are trying to climb out of their little pots...so we are in full swing spring!  Just a few more patches of seeds to sow....always....

Our little beer farm bistro is under construction and hopefully will be on a truck in the next month!  We can't wait to get it here!  I'll see about getting some construction photos from our builder over in Stigler, OK!

Save the date!  Monday May 22 at 7pm will mark the beginning of our weekly Beer Farm Yoga!  Normal sessions will be $10 and will be taught by the most lovely Anne Canada.  Get your stretch on and have a beer.  It's a good pairing.....trust us!

Our new food permit means a lot more will be available to you here at Prestonrose...I'll finally be able to sell you (instead of just post photos of them all the time!) all of those pickles, spreads, roasted peppers, breads and so much more that we produce.  Sky's the limit, so stay tuned!!
