Giving it a whirl....

GROWLER1.jpg

Well.....here we are.  On a blog page.  I think.

Let's see...so I started this page thinking it would serve as a sort of 'newsletter' since recently discovering a section of our squarespace page which includes a list of email addresses for folks who have signed up to receive news and updates (!?).  We shall see how this attempt comes out on the other side....it *is* a part of the site we are already running, so why not?

Events and things of interest at the beer farm....

Brewed recently: Tea-S.B.  An ESB with the added dimension of organic green tea.  Excited to see how this one goes....Also Honey Brown.  Self explanatory :-)

In the greenhouse: Peppers and tomatoes are coming along....if reluctantly.  We installed a poly-carb greenhouse inside one of our high tunnels in order to relocate the seed starting operation from our house windows to a more sensible spot :-)  So along with new equipment, as usual, come the trials and errors of figuring out the right way to regulate temps, water and air circulation.  So there will be hatch peppers, there will be about 15 other pepper varieties, and there will be the usual plethora of heirloom tomatoes this year.....it's just that the greenhouse is deciding which ones those will be this time around!  Always a learning process......

The Paris Garden Club visited recently and got to see everything pre-bloom....hopefully they'll return when everything's pretty!  Lots of questions and information about organic farming, etc.

Events! This Friday April 7th, William Blackart will join us from Russellville to do a little pickin and grinnin....along with R.U. Hungry's Catering serving up some tasty treats!  Beer farm hours 4-8 as usual, music starts at 6.

The first annual Cottontown Brews Fest!  We are reviving the Cottontown Blues Fest of old as a BREWS fest....get it?  So far have about 10 Arkansas (and one Missouri) breweries confirmed, along with 5 food trucks, several musicians and even a little mini farmers market!  Tickets are on sale now at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cottontown-brews-festival-tickets-32482934331?aff=es2 or here at the farm!

Farmers Market: The little online Paris Market is picking up....more veggies are being added every week and we tripled the number of orders this week!  Hoping to keep that momentum and get people trained to look forward to doing a big part of their grocery shopping locally with our farmers and producers!  You can check us out fridays thru sundays at www.parisarkansas.locallygrown.net

Opening day for the Paris Market on the square is May 6!!  Adding vendors and activity as we go....hope to make it a big day like the past few years!  Paris seems tolike that....

I think that will do for now....it would stink if I wrote much more and something went awry!  Hopefully I can find a way to email folks to let them know when a new post is published....learning learning learning....

Peace everyone...and much love from the beer farm!  I'm turning comments on....but be nice!  Or I'll turn em back off!!!
